In celebration of Take Your Child to Work Day, Mrs. Flock brought her 2 daughters, Jamie(GR 4) and Emily (GR 2) to her classroom to assist with learning activities. Mrs. Myers also brought her children, Morghan (GR 12) and Jackson (GR 6). It was a great experience for all, from academics to crafts and games.
Mrs. Fox's and Mrs. Burkey's 2nd and 3rd grade students took part in a shared reading activity at Norvelt Elementary. And, special visitor Ayden Fox, on campus for Take Your Child to Work Day, participated in the fun!!

PARENTS OF 6TH GRADE STUDENTS:
As is tradition, 6th grade students will be gifted a yearbook from the PTO. Parents of 6th graders, please DO NOT order a book for them. We will place their orders together so that they can be distributed at the JH.

Purchases made after ordering deadline may be subject to additional processing fees and are not guaranteed to be delivered the first week of school due to different production/printing schedules.

Juniors Rylin Bugosh and Paige Lorince attended the Rotary Day Luncheon as guest speakers, to discuss with members of our community global initiatives set forth by the regional UN Conference. The young women exchanged views on youth activism and education in creating a green and sustainable climate while navigating challenges.

FREEZIN' FOR A REASON
Many thanks to the Hecla Volunteer Fire Department for helping us with this event for the last three years. Such a worthy cause!!
Our students participated in the Envirothon at Twin Lakes today, where they rotated between learning stations on renewable energy, aquatics, soils, forestry, and wildlife, and then were tested on their knowledge of the content. They were given a K-9 demonstration from the Game Commission at lunch on how their service dogs can track scents such as ammo casings, animal carcasses, and humans for search and rescue.
Physics professor Dr. Kenneth Burch of Boston College spoke with students on Quantum Physics. Thank you Ms. Grace for bringing this opportunity to our students.

Today at Norvelt Elementary, Mrs. Fox's 3rd grade students spent some time learning about what happens during a total solar eclipse.
Mrs. Burkey's 2nd grade students enjoyed solar eclipse snacks while participating in solar eclipse activities at Norvelt Elementary.

MEDAL OF HONOR CEREMONY
A beautiful ceremony was held this morning to pay tribute to 3 Mount Pleasant natives who were awarded the nation's highest military award for valor. Only US service members who distinguish themselves through conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of life beyond the call of duty can receive the medal.
