🍕 Fractions in Action! ! 🍕 In Mrs. Jaworski's classroom, students took on the roles of chefs and guests to learn fractions in a deliciously hands-on way! 👩🍳👨🍳 Each "chef" received an order from their "guest," practicing social skills while taking orders and creating custom pizzas. Using topping portions as fractions, students learned to: 1️⃣ Take pizza orders and understand fractions 2️⃣ Use social skills in a restaurant setting 3️⃣ Build pizzas with precise fraction toppings 4️⃣ Reflect on their work by reviewing the orders The pizza boxes were generously donated by Alexander's Pizza and added a real touch to their creations. This was definitely a slice of learning they’ll never forget! 🍕🎉 Thank you, Alexander's Pizza!! #FractionFun #HandsOnLearning #MathSkills

Bubbles make a great stand in for cell membranes. They’re fluid, flexible, and can self-repair. Bubbles and cell membranes are alike because their parts are so similar. Here you can see our AP Biology seniors having the time of their lives exploring these similarities.
In conjunction with the unit Heroes: From Beowulf to 9/11, Ms. Krider’s English 12 students visited the Flight 93 Memorial today. Time was spent reflecting on the legacy of courage and sacrifice shown by the heroic actions of the Flight 93 passengers.❤️💙

The Junior High Media Crew took their first trip to Hitachi Energy yesterday for the "What's So Cool About Manufacturing" video contest.
Recently, 5th grade students in Mrs. David's and Mrs. Dreistadt's Science classes teamed up with classes from Bellwood, Pennsylvania and Saint Clair Shores, Michigan to participate in an exciting "Ship-A-Chip" challenge. The students were tasked with designing and creating a package that could safely transport a single Pringles potato chip through the mail.
After working diligently on their projects, the classes connected via Zoom for a live package opening event. This allowed them to see how their carefully crafted chip containers fared during shipping. The students' hard work and success was then celebrated with a fun Pringles picnic and tasting. Great work, little Vikes!!
Students in the Spanish Club have been celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month. To end the month-long celebration, the Spanish Club collaborated with Mr. Rulon-Miller and the cafeteria staff to serve hispanic-inspired foods during lunch today! Spanish Club officers decorated the cafeteria yesterday and all students enjoyed their unique (and delicious) lunch options today!

🚨 Important Message for Mount Pleasant Area Jr/Sr High Students!!🚨
This week, we had the privilege of hearing from Bubba Fatula, who addressed our junior and senior high students about the critical Run, Hide, Fight response to active shooter situations. With his investigative experience from incidents like Sandy Hook, Bubba shared insightful accounts that underscored the harsh realities of such events.
Our students were a captive, attentive audience, listening intently and asking thoughtful questions. This experience reinforced how crucial it is to have a plan in place. Knowing how to react in emergencies can make all the difference in keeping ourselves and each other safe. Thank you, Bubba, for emphasizing the importance of preparedness!
